Carbon Emissions-By state

Firedoglake has a really interesting article on just how America's emissions compare to around the world. They even found this nifty map that compares emissions in the states to a corresponding country that it equals.

And here is the rest of it.

In and IL are one? I am Iraq? Can't pull up article to tell me what how each country affects...

The statistical implications are frightening in that they lend support to my argument that the lifestyles of typical Americans are not sustainable. That a nation of 300 million emits the same amount of carbon pollution as many nations with populations totaling more than a billion is particularly telling of the American way of life. Shameful!

Di, I actually had to go look. Yep, it looks like Il and IN are equal to Itally, combined. And, ironically enough, yes you equal Iraq.

Considering how much Texas and Louisiana depend on oil and how low their emissions efforts are, I think I'm afraid of Germany now!
